Description

These are cargoes used for recycling purposes (e.g., into new anodes). They are actually spent carbon anodes (from aluminium production plants) that are crushed into smaller pieces of black lumps containing primarily carbon and impurities so that shipment is made possible. Uses: introducing electricity into aluminium smelter pots. Odourless material. Bulk density 800-1000 kg/m3. Cargo comprises mainly of carbon (93%) with some other components present like aluminium oxide and cryolite. A trace of sodium beryllium fluoride may also be present depending on the amount of alumina used during the spending of the anodes. |
